2010 Honda CBR250R

A liquid cooled 250 cc engine 4-stroke 4-valve single-cylinder DOHC engine, electronically controlled fuel injection system, Combined ABS are some of the exclusive features Honda`s new CBR250R for India. I guess all of you know this, but we have some exclusive news on the subject.

An anonymous source has tipped us that the vehicle is already under homologation, and we can expect the launch of vehicle somewhere in early 2011 or even before that. Honda is also planning for one more bike in this segment but there is no confirmed news as of now. As reported by us in the past, a VTR250 is very much possible !

The news came directly from Thailand a few days ago, Honda announcing debut in 250cc segment, what they did not tell the reporters that the new baby is already on move. Honda plans to manufacture the bike locally so the price would be very competitive , something around INR 1.5 lakhs, though you can never be sure of that.

Talking about design and aesthetics, the bike looks stunning, a true sports bike and would fit into the garage of a true rider. Honda has grown its market share to 16% in mere 10 years, and is again ready to grab the 250cc space. And if we are not wrong, with this competitive price, Honda will definitely be the first choice for any bike enthusiast with big budgets.

“Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (Pvt.) Ltd. will also start production of the CBR250R next spring and extend sales from India to South America. Honda will also offer the CBR250R at a more affordable price in the diversified Indian motorcycle market by effectively carrying out global procurement of parts and materials in the same way as Thai Honda.”

Have my doubts of VTR250 comnercial launch this year as I think HMSI is presently trying to concentrate on manufacturing CBR250R. Hope HMSI makes an announcement on VTR250 whether positive or negative, dispelling rumours being floated on the internet.
