Spare Part Woes: Honda CB Stunner 125 alloy wheels

Rather, we aim to be a honest platform for auto enthusiasts and consumers alike to voice their concerns about everything and anything relating to automobiles. One of our avid readers has had a rough time with his Honda Stunner lately and wrote to us about it.

Our reader owns a Honda Stunner 125 (without disc rake) since 2008. He had an unfortunate accident on 17th of December 2010 near Pune. Fortunately, he was not hurt in any way, although the bike took quite a blow. From what we could understand, the infamous pothole on Pune city’s roads are to blame once again.

Our reader was riding down road at night and hit a pothole in the road and was flung violently over the handlebars. Fortunately, he escaped with minor bruises however, the front alloy of the Stunner cracked and bent due the impact. Finding the right Honda spare alloy has just been a total nightmare for our fellow ICB reader.

When he got in touch with Honda dealers in Pune all of them told him to leave the bike until the part arrived. Two months have passed since the accident, still no luck. Our reader was even ready to pay more for the alloy with the disc brakes but neither of them were available. Weeks passed, still no spare parts arrived at Honda.

Frustrated, our reader got in touch with the dealer once again and this time the dealer told him to find the genuine alloy in the local market. Atleast, the dealer gave him a lead to a whole seller of Honda spares in the city. Surprise, surprise! the whole seller did not have the right part as well. Baffled by the events, our reader finally got in touch with us.

What we’ll do is, we’ll bring this to the attention of folks at Honda India and probably, that would enable the reader get an expedited delivery of the said part. We sincerely hope that Honda, which has been known for it’s exemplary quality right from it’s very inception in India makes sure that such incidents don’t repeat in future.
