Our eagle eyed friend, Nakul Ilawe just spotted a 2011 KTM 200 doing the testing rounds somewhere near the Bajaj factory in Pune. This is the second such spotting in the day, probably of the same motorcycle as motorcycle maintenance ace Chinmay Dangre too spotted the KTM 200 somewhere in the Nigdi area of Pune. Coming to the motorcycle in itself, the KTM Duke 200 will be produced by Bajaj and sold in India somewhere in the end of 2011. The motorcycle, as Rajiv Bajaj himself has told in one of his interviews to this month’s print edition of BSMotoring, will feature a 200cc liquid cooled heart.
While other specifications remain sketchy at the moment, the spy pic tells us that the KTM Duke 200 features a trellis frame to which the 200cc engine is suspended. This apart, according to Rajiv Bajaj’s interview on BSM, the motorcycle is expected to cost almost double that of the Pulsar series of motorcycles, and will sell at about INR 1.2 Lakhs and upwards. As the spottings seem to be intensifying in and around Pune with Bajaj Auto making no effort to camouflage the KTM, we’re wondering whether the KTM Duke 200 will actually be launched before schedule. We’d love to know what you think about the KTM Duke 200?
