When Kawasaki set up shop in Bajaj’s Chakan plant with a very modest investment of INR 5 Crores, a lot of people were quick to dismiss this move as mere hot air. Here’s a bit of news that is massive to say the least.

Enthused by the brilliant response that the Ninja 250R received, India Kawasaki Motor will assemble and sell the Kawasaki Ninja 650R in India very soon. This news comes with a rider, one which motorcycle enthusiasts across the country are dying to hear from ages.

The Kawasaki Ninja 650R could sell for an estimated INR 4-5 Lakhs. Brilliant value we say considering the fact that the 650R is almost the perfect all round motorcycle that the Indian terrain will warm up to. Coming to the Ninja 650R’s performance, you’ll be happy to know that the 649cc parallel twin engine will pump out about 70 horses and 66 Nm of torque. These figures, though not earth shattering, simply are figures that are very usable on Indian roads.

If this motorcycle does manage to hit the market at INR 4-5 Lakhs, Kawasaki is staring down the barrel at sales, that could in the very least be explosive. How about the muscular ER-6N, Kawasaki? India is waiting.

I am interested in owning a Ninja, however, I am a beginner and I would like to know which would be the best buy for a beginner? Should I start with the 250, 500, or the 650?

    Old Cars,

As a beginner, the Ninja 250R is an ideal motorcycle to begin with as it is one of the most poplar beginner motorcycles across the world.

    Cheers,

    Jay
