KTM showcased the 790 Adventure bike, sadly it’s still a concept, but the future looks promising in the mid-range Adventure bike segment!
The Austrian two-wheeler giant is well-known for its tarmac tearing bikes, but KTM also has its fair share of off-road bikes as well. And they are capable too with genuine off-road cred as can be seen in the intro video of the KTM 790 Adventure bike!
The KTM 790 Adventure will be powered by the 790 cc LC8 parallel twin that does duty on the recently launched KTM Duke 790. It will be suitably tweaked to suit the off-road riding style of the bike with a kerb-weight of about 430 to 440 pounds.
Middle weight adventure bikes are currently the motorcycle segment in demand around the world and KTM wants to get into the action with the 790 Adventure. In concept guise for now, the KTM 790 Adventure will enter production soon to take on the rest of its rivals in this segment, like the Triumph Tiger 800 that just received a refresh. BMW also has the F850 version of the smaller GS.
The KTM sure has dedicated fans with its off-road motocross bikes in courtesy with Red Bull racing. So a road-going adventure off-road bike will be well come by many!
Too lazy to type anything, so re quoting from the best F1 driver in the world:
“On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.”
