Mahindra Two Wheelers’ radical offerings at the 2010 Auto Expo

Mahindra & Mahindra Concept Motorcycle & Scooter

Mahindra Two Wheelers made the biggest waves among the two wheeler segment at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo. We say biggest waves for the way they came up with a couple of awe inspiring concepts.

Here, we showcase the 125cc GP motorcycle and a scooter concept that Mahindra has developed with Engines Engineering, the Italian engine firm that they acquired recently.

This motorcycle is a complete race spec 125 and we’ve listed it’s specifications below. Obviously, this motorcycle will never hit Indian roads as a commercial motorcycle while Mahindra might just go circuit racing with this motorcycle of theirs. Judging the pace at which Mahindra Two Wheelers is expanding, this could be a very distinct reality in the near future.

Ah, what a day it would be for the Indian motorcycle industry as a whole!

Mahindra also showcased a radical scooter concept that might make it to serial production sometime in the future. The scooter features a 124cc direct engine two stroke engine. This engine if produced, could be the harbinger of the two stroke’s comeback into the mainstream.

We hope and pray that happens, for, nothing this side of a turbo really can replace the addictive, economical rush a two stroke can give.

No doubt Rodeo is an overall a good power scooter. M&M should make an attempt to provide it with 100/110 cc fuel efficient engine on this chassis with good quality plastics/switches/ buttons (as is pointed out in review) and in a competitive price, which is generally expected by a commuter class, to boost up its sales and remain stable in competition.
