New Super Splendor Launched in India with a Price Tag of Rs 45,950

Sniffing the growing competition from its rivals, country’s largest motorcycle maker has launched a new avatar of the Super Splendor bike. The bike, which was originally introduced in 2005 in the 125cc segment with “Quantum Core” engine and enhanced features to give better fuel economy, has been refurbished to keep at par with the current market demands. The bike is one of the best-sellers in the company’s stable and is priced at Rs 45,950 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

“The 125cc segment has been stagnant or even declining in the past one year, but we believe that we can grow the market. Our own expectation is to grow our own sales by about 15-20 per cent in the 125cc segment,” said Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua.

“With consecutive months of four lakh-plus sales since the month of May, our sales are moving at all-time high levels. We are looking to build on this momentum with a slew of new launches leading up to the festive season,” he added.

The bike now sports new graphics, new alloy wheel design, new tail lights, newly designed headlights with translucent visor, new meter console, broad muffler and black coating on the engine. The engine has been tweaked to produce a maximum power of 9 bhp @ 7,000 rpm.
