Royal Enfield’s Kinetic Connection could shorten waiting periods
Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 500 EFI
While Mahindra & Mahindra took over Kinetic Engineering Limited and most of it’s assets, Kinetic’s Ahmednagar plant remained wit Kinetic for reasons unknown. Now, this plant idling away seems to have caught the eye of Royal Enfield, which itself is grappling with a massive production delay leading to waiting periods as long as eight whole months.
Motorcycle buyers daunted by this gray hair inducing waiting period are simply planning to buy other motorcycles from other brands or altogether canceling their motorcycle purchase plans.
This seems to be irking Royal Enfield and finally the company seems to be doing something about it instead of the endless procrastination. If things go as per Royal Enfield’s plans, we might see the idle Kinetic facility at Ahmednagar being used to paint Royal Enfield parts and accessories, thus liberating more capacity at Royal Enfield’s Tiruvottiyur plant, off Chennai, for assembling more Royal Enfield motorcycles. Let’s hope that this plan does indeed work out and help Royal Enfield shorten the tediously long waiting period.
