Bookings for the Royal Enfield Electra 5S UCE now open

Royal Enfield Bullet Electra 5S Motorcycle

Royal Enfield Bullet Electra 5S Motorcycle

During the 2010 Indian Auto Expo, Royal Enfield gave us a glimpse of their future with the UCE(unit construction engine) platform. Now, the range of 350cc and 500cc UCE engines are all set to power several Royal Enfield models across their product line up. The first in this line of existing models getting the new UCE engines is the Royal Enfield 5S model. Motorcycle buyers can book the Royal Enfield Electra 5S UCE at their nearest Royal Enfield showrooms now.

The unit construction engine(UCE) will bring in more reliability, lesser fuel consumption and Euro 4 emission norms compliance. Along with this, performance will improve vastly, especially when compared to the older pre-unit construction cast iron engines.

The Royal Enfield Electra UCE is expected to cost almost 10% higher than the outgoing model, which in our opinion is a small price to pay for the added reliability, performance and low maintenance the new engine brings into the equation.

And like always, we’re bringing you this bit of news before anyone :-) in the Indian blogosphere.

The company RE is headed towards a disaster! HOW do you expect them to survive after they have chopped off their mascot (Bullet Standard 350) that has kept the company going for decades? Nobody in their right mind (except perhaps those with cash to burn) are going to buy this new UCE drivel that is being bandied about these days. In trying to please an international audience, RE has screwed up the feelings of the true Indian Bulleteer!

I SAW THE NEW MODEL.ALL ARE OK BUT THE LENGTH OF SILENCER AND SOUND ARE NOT SO GUD.I THINK THAT MILEAGE MAY INCREASE ?

I bought one in May 2010. Its different from the legendary bullet, but gives more mileage. but the ride comfort and pleasure retains with the older one legend bullet with CI engine.i find the UCE engine vibrant and noisy, infact the engine noise is way higher then the thump, which is quite disturbing. But being a hardcore bullet enthusiast, we ought to have the patience to forgive the cons and see the pros…. Keep thumping
