TVS Motors launches the 2012 Star City 110cc commuter motorcycle for a price of INR 38,650 ex-showroom Delhi!

The competition in the 110cc four stroke economuter motorcycle segment is clearly hotting up. With as many as three new motorcycles to be launched over the next few months, the 110cc motorcycle segment is seeing plenty of action prompting incumbent players in the segment to update their offerings to take on the new competition. One such incumbent and a successful one at that is TVS Motors Limited. The Hosur headquartered two and three wheeler brand has updated its bread and butter offering, the TVS Star City 110 executive commuter motorcycle with a few new features.

Dubbed as the 2012 Star City, the motorcycle now features,

* Dual tone paint finish available in six colors

* An all new headlamp design

* Clear lens turn indicators

The mechanicals remain the same with the 110cc four stroke engine being retained. TVS claims a high 83.9 Kmpl mileage for this four stroke engine, which also features TVS’ Constant Variable Timing Ignition(CVTi) technology along with optimized port geometry for better combustion. Both these factors are said to be instrumental in this motorcycle returning a high mileage figure.

Like the erstwhile Victor, the first TVS motorcycle to feature dual ignition maps, the Star City 110 also features power and economy mode indicators on its instrumentation panel along with the maps delivering different ignition curves(power and mileage curves) for different riding conditions. The 2012 TVS Star City 110 is priced at INR 38,650 ex-showroom, Delhi.

The TVS Star City offers an outstanding warranty of 5 years, which is something unmatched in the commuter motorcycle industry. In the coming months, three all new motorcycles, namely the Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro, the Honda Dream Yuga 110 and the Suzuki Hayate 110 will be launched in the Indian motorcycle market. All of these motorcycles feature 110cc four stroke engines.
