TVS Motors launches Mahendra Singh Dhoni edition Star City!

The festive season is just around the corner and two wheeler makers are coming up with refreshes of their products to entice prospective customers. Just yesterday, we reported about Yamaha Motor India giving its price warrior, the Yamaha Crux a teeny weeny makeover to make it a little more fresher at the market place. Now, it is Hosur based TVS Motors’ turn to give its bread winning motorcycle, the Star City a small facelift and name it the Mahendra Singh Dhoni edition Star City.

Incidentally, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, arguably the most successful Indian cricket captain has been the brand ambassador for the TVS Star City right from the launch of this motorcycle. To commemorate this, the new Dhoni edition of the TVS Star Citywill feature the signature of MS Dhoni. Also, the motorcycle comes with brand new graphics to enhance its appeal for the festive season. However there are no changes to the mechanicals of the Star City.

The TVS Star City is one of the few motorcycles in the market today, to come with a 5 year, 50,000 km engine warranty and has sold over 1.2 million units within three years of its launch. The TVS Star City retains the same, tried and tested 110cc four stroke engine producing 8.1 Bhp of peak power and 8.1 Nm peak torque. The four stroke engine is mated to a four speed transmission and the low dry weight of under 100 kg means that the Star City is a sprightly performer.

A few notable features of the TVS Star City is that the motorcycle comes with a mobile charger socket located in the headlamp fairing of the motorcycle and also the fact that it has one of the largest fuel tanks in its class with a 16 liter capacity. This effectively means that the Star City has a range of over 1,000 kilometers on a single tank of fuel, a figure that will be hard to match by most if not all motorcycles.The TVS Star City sells at a price of INR 39,245 Ex-showroom Delhi.
