The upcoming KTM Duke 200 sounds real rorty and here’s a video that says it all!
Folks who’ve ridden the KTM Duke 200 have come back raving about the way the 200cc DOHC motor revs to the moon in each and every gear. They’ve also reported about the KTM Duke 200 sounding very rorty, only next to the TVS Apache RTRs of this world when it comes to a superb exhaust note and that is saying a lot, isn’t it? Without much ado, we’ll show what the KTM Duke 200 sounds like. Hit the jump for the video we’ve lined up for you and this is one video that you don’t want to miss as this is probably the first video demonstrating the KTM Duke 200′s rorty exhaust note.
Even as we’re publishing this, our interaction with a trained Bajaj-KTM service supervisor has thrown up a few details that you’d want to know about the Duke. The said service supervisor told Team ICB that the KTM Duke 200 was expected to be priced in the whereabouts of 1.2 Lakh Rupees. This motorcycle could be in a KTM/Probiking showroom near you as early as next week. So keep you’re eyes peeled out for the KTM Duke 200, which could be launched very soon in India even as Bajaj is putting up the final touches to KTM showrooms across India.
The KTM Duke 200 is powered by a 199cc four stroke engine that runs on a four valve, DOHC head layout. This engine is liquid cooled and produces 25 Bhp of peak power at 10,000 rpm and 19 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. The rated top speed of the KTM Duke is 135 Kph even as Bajaj is said to be reworking the ECU for a rev limiter to be raised a few hundred rpm higher for a better top speed. The motorcycle weighs a light 136 kilos and this will give the motorcycle an explosive power to weight ratio, much better than most premium sports motorcycles in India.
