Honda CB Dazzler Deluxe

I can’t really remember when I saw the Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler on Indian roads last, even as the motorcycle has been a very tepid seller for Honda. Honda wants to add some spice into the Dazzler which the two wheeler major will hope, will translate into higher sales. So, you get two new paint jobs for which you will have to shell out INR 1,000 extra over the standard Dazzler. Oh, and the new variant of the Dazzler with the funky paint job is called the Deluxe variant.

By the looks of it, the pain job has actually done its job of infusing new life into the CB Dazzler’s design for good measure. But will it be good enough for the CB Dazzler to upset the applecart of the mighty Yamaha FZ16 is the big question that only time will tell. For now, the CB Dazzler still retains the tried and tested 149.1cc, SOHC 2 valve four stroke engine, much acclaimed for its butter like smoothness which some motorcyclists cringe at for being too smooth. Yes, people even complain about an engine that they feel is too smooth.

Nevertheless, the CB Dazzler does feel rorty in the mid range, especially with the accompanying intake growl of the paper type air filter, which makes matters a little frisky cool. The engine produces 14 Bhp and 13.1Nm of torque to lug around the heavy 138 kilogram kerb weight. Handling is where the Dazzler is quite good at with telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear providing a good balance between flickability and steady road holding.

Though not in the Yamaha FZ16′s league in many parameters, the CB Dazzler still has the legendary Honda reliability and smoothness, apart from better-than-the-FZ mileage and better rear seat going for it. The new two tone colors on the CB Dazzler Deluxe are Pearl Sunbeam White with Red and Black with Grey. While the Deluxe variants of the CB Dazzler cost INR 66,198 ex-showroom Delhi, the standard versions are available for INR 1,000 lesser at INR 65,198.
