2010 F1 Qualifying Spanish GP: Redbull 1-2 on the starting grid at the Spanish Bull Ring

Building on Redbull’s strong Friday practice times, Aussie Mark Webber snatched pole from team mate Sebastian Vettel at the very last moment in the Spanish GP at Catalunya, Spain. In the process, Webber ensured that Team Redbull Racing managed a 1-2 start for tomorrows raceday. Lewis Hamilton managed to bring home his Mclaren in third place, just ahead of Spaniard and local sensation Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari.
Jenson Button went fifth fastest in his Mclaren even as Michael Schumacher out qualified Mercedes team mate Nico Rosberg for the very first time this season. The old warhorse made full use of the tweaked chassis that his Mercedes now sports, one that suits his style of driving. Michael Schumacher back on race pace? We reckon it’s too early to say although there were some signs to indicate a resurgence of the legendary Schumacher of yore.
Force India’s Adrian Sutil managed 11th fastest while Vitantonio Liuzzi disappointed again with a lowly 17th position on the starting grid. Karun Chandhok again impressed all and sundry with a good show by outclassing team mate Bruno Senna yet again but HRT’s lack of race place ensured that Karun starts from 23rd place, or second last from the grid, just ahead of Bruno Senna.
Tomorrow, we’ll bring you all the F1 action from the Raceday at Catalunya, Spain. Stay locked.
