Eight times Le Mans Champions, Audi, have unveiled their latest offering for this year’s championship. The new Audi R15 TDI Plus racer has been given a whole new paint job with Red - the dominating color, unlike the silver in the previous versions, which is called “Pleasure in Efficiency“.
Audi, when first launched their diesel powered R8 Racer back in 2000, dominated the sport so much that the FIA had to change rules to make it easier for other gasoline cars to compete.
The Race car can be seen racing at Le Castellet this Sunday (11th April) which is a preparatory race for the Le Mans. It is also scheduled to be tested on the world famous Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. “The race at Le Castellet comes at a very early point in time for us and is nothing but a test in racing conditions,” stresses Ralf Jüttner, Technical Director of Audi Sport Team Joest.

2009 has not been a good year for the team. So, the team is relying on their proven technology that has gone into the making of this car and a set of extremely talented drivers – Dindo Capello (3 Le Mans wins), Mr. Le Mans – Tom Kristensen ( 8 Le Mans wins), and Allan McNish ( 2 Le Mans wins).
The Big Race in Le Mans is scheduled on June 12-13, 2010.
