We are just weeks away till the five red lights illuminate and the inaugural Indian GP is go. In the coming weeks Formula 1 fans around the country will get a taster of what the sport is all about. Apart from the main event, Formula 1 drivers will be involved in numerous PR exercises before getting into their racing suits. One such promotional event took place in Bangalore last week.

Lewis Hamilton was in the Garden city to enthral F1 fans in the south. On a closed section of public road just outside the city, Bangaloreans were treated to some rubber burning action. Lewis jumped into his world championship winning machine and screamed passed a huge crowd. Later, Hamilton drove around in a Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG convertible. Red Bull had organized a similar event in the country capital on October 1st.

The Red Bull Speed Street event saw Daniel Ricciardo driving his Red Bull F1 show car on Raj Path. 60,000 fans gathered to witness the event with the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate serving as the backdrop. Ricciardo clocked speeds over 300 kph on a closed section of the famous Raj Path in New Delhi. That said, we have been posting images of the new purpose built race track that will host the Formula 1 race on October 30th.

We were browsing through Youtube and came across this video where Karun Chandhok takes us on a tour of the Buddh International racing circuit. For the first time, the video takes us through the infrastructure surrounding the race track. The huge grand stand looks imposing and so do the press facilities and pit buildings. The track profile too looks interesting with its elevation changes and stadium sections. The Indian GP track promises an entertaining race for sure and the layout of the track will allow F1 cars to reach speeds exceeding 200 mph.
