It’s official baby: Casey Stoner heads to Repsol Honda for MotoGP 2011
Casey Stoner
Ladies and gentlemen, it is now official with Honda big boy Shuhei Nakamoto coming out in the open and declaring it. Casey Stoner will indeed don Repsol Honda colors in the 2011 MotoGP championship and this finally ends the feverish speculation about Stoner and Honda which had been raging around for months together. Stoner’s move to Honda also intensifies another big story that could become reality very soon.
MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi could move to Ducati and take Stoner’s place thus making Marlboro Ducati an Italian dream team. While Casey Stoner is indeed a confirmed rider for Repsol Honda, we have word emerging from HRC that Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso could both be retained by them making the Repsol Honda line up an ultra formidable one. So, with three big names in one team, sparks anyone?
Meanwhile, here’s official word from Shuhei Nakamoto, HRC’s Vice President.
We are very pleased that Casey will join Honda again next year. Clearly he is one of the top riders in MotoGP and he will bring valuable speed and experience to our team. In the factory Honda squad we already have two very strong and experienced riders in Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso who are performing very well and currently hold second and third positions in the 2010 World Championship. HRC hopes also to retain these two riders for next year – giving us what would be a truly formidable line-up.
