At the back, Nicky Hayden clashed with Loris Capirossi who was riding in his 200th grand prix. Both of them retired after the incident. Meanwhile, Pedrosa was pulling away from Lorenzo. Stoner did challenge Lorenzo at the start but had to concede third place to ‘The Doctor’. Stoner couldn’t hold Dovizioso for long and in the end settled for fifth.

Jorge Lorenzo
Pedrosa increased his lead by 4.9sec over Lorenzo which was good enough for a second consecutive grand prix victory. Dani crossed the line 1.900sec ahead of Lorenzo. Rossi finished third behind Lorenzo by 3.183sec.

Casey Stoner
Dovizioso was fourth on his Honda followed by Stoner. Spies and Edwards finished sixth and seventh. Bautista, Barbera and Melandri complete the top ten. Mika Kallio also retired with mechanical issues.
