The Football fever is the flavor of the season but who’ll watch 22 men chasing a ball when glorious wheel to wheel F1 racing is on? Motor racing at it’s very zenith was what we witnessed at the just concluded 2010 F1 Canadian Grand Prix which had thrills, spills and chills galore. Lewis Hamilton started out from pole and managed to drive home in just that but this time around, it was raceday which the Brit driver dominated and deservedly finished in first place.

Following a close second was Mclaren teammate Jenson Button who made it there with an audacious overtaking move on third placed Fernando Alonso, who cluelessly let the clever Englishman go past. The race saw plenty of action right from the word go when Force India’s Vitantonio Liuzzi’s first lap brush with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa saw him pit immediately with his team mate Adrian Sutil spinning away to rejoin without much damage.

Throughout the race, F1 drivers driving the wheels of their F1 cars constantly bickered for position making it a spectacle that warmed many a F1 fan’s heart. For naysayers who call F1 boring, they must catch the Canadian GP, at least on the highlights. Meanwhile, the action continued onto the very last lap when German ace Michael Schumacher, struggling with a Mercedes car that was simply not at 100%, fended off Liuzzi and Sutil only to be passed by both.

Adding insult to injury, Schumacher finished off the points in 11th place as a result of the spirited driving the Force India duo indulged in. Karun Chandhok finished 18th, in yet another decent outing for Hispania Racing even as his team mate Bruno Senna retired early on once again. So, that was all about the super exciting F1 race straight from Montreal, Canada, which more than made up for the drab world cup footballing action this weekend.
