Ferrari F10: Ferrari’s 2010 F1 car unwrapped at Maranello
After a rather dull 2009 F1 season where Ferrari managed to win just one race, Ferrari will be hoping for a hugely improved effort in 2010 with the launch of Ferrari F10 Car. This car was unveiled on 28th January, 2010 by Ferrari CEO Luca Di Montemezelo at Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello, Italy.
Both the Ferrari driers for the 2010 F1 season, Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso and test driver Luca Badoer were present at the launch. The Ferrari F10 sees plenty of changes primarily in the aerodynamics and the frame department.
This, as the ban in refueling has necessitated a wider and longer chassis to accommodate the larger fuel tank. Ferrari have entirely redesigned the car’s rear end by including an all new gearbox that is smaller.
This is to exploit the double diffuser system, which incidentally made it’s debut in the 2009 F1 season amidst opposition from teams like Ferrari. For testing, the Ferrari F10 F1 car will hit Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit today, after which testing will resume at Valencia, Spain next week.
