F1 Italian Grand Prix 2010: Alonso takes pole
Alonso on pole at Monza
Fernando Alonso set a blistering time of 1.21.962 secs to take pole at the Italian GP at Monza. The fans who had gathered surely had a blast with the Ferrari’s qualifying 1st and 3rd. Massa was able to set the third best time in his scarlet car. Jenson Button out-qualified his team mate this time around by grabbing second position.

Sebastien Vettel
Championship leader Lewis Hamilton will line up fifth on the grid ahead of Sebastian Vettel. The best of the Petronas Mercedes was will start in 7th while Michael Shumacher failed to qualify for Q3, for the fourth time this year. Nico Hulkenberg, Kubica and Barrichello complete the top 10.

Adrian Sutil will start in 11th while team mate Liuzzi retired due to mechanical issues during Q1. Vitaly Petrov is likely to face a penalty after blocking Timo Glock’s opening run on exiting the pit lane.
