Lorenzo extends his lead by 77 points after winning the Czech Republic Grand Prix at Brno. Having started the race from third the Spaniard was able to move up and soon was leading the race. 4 laps down, Pedrosa was trailing behind by 0.295secs.

Lorenzo and Pedrosa exchanged the fastest lap time as they set pace at the front. Meanwhile, Loris Capirossi and Andrea Dovizioso went down in the early stages of the race. Half way through the race, Lorenzo pulled away from Pedrosa increasing the gap to about 3secs. Ultimately, Lorenzo took the checkered flag with 5.494secs seperating him from second placed Pedrosa. Stoner, came in third behind Pedrosa.

Ben Spies started the race from second on the grid and finished fourth with Rossi in fifth. Álvaro Bautista as the rookie slid out on the last corner of the final lap. Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards were sixth and seventh respectively, with Marco Melandri, Héctor Barberá and the returning Randy de Puniet completing the top ten.
