Valentino Rossi loves anything that moves, and moves fast. Here is a perfect illustration of that statement. Rossi was back testing in a Ferrari Formula 1 car on a chilly morning of the 20th January, 2010. This, as he commenced two days of running in a 2008 Ferrari at Catalunya, Spain. The 30 year old MotoGP champion has been given the test opportunity as a mark of Ferrari’s respect for his latest title success in motorcycle racing.

This is Rossi’s sixth test behind the wheel of a Ferrari F1 car and the Moto GP legend the Catalunya clocked a best lap time of 1.21.900, on his penultimate lap. A lap time, that amazingly was just a few tenths off Kimi Raikkonen’s 2009 lap record at the same circuit. All said and done, both Rossi and Ferrari have emphasized that Rossi is driving the F1 car for his own entertainment and that there is no prospect of his once mooted F1 switch being revived. The Italian prepared for F1 test outing with a session in the new F1 simulator and meetings with the Ferrari mechanics at Ferrari’s Maranello base last week.
