Days ago, the world wide web was agog with buzz about former F1 pace ace Kimi Raikkonen set to return to F1. The bubble seems to have burst now as AutoSport reports that Kimi will stay put in WRC, driving for the RedBull Citroen WRC team. Raikkonen seems very serious about his WRC career as of now and also wants to further his good relationship with energy drink giant, RedBull, giving rise to new speculation that the Iceman might be hitch an F1 ride sometime in the future with the RedBull F1 team.

Here’s word from Redbull Racing WRC.

We are very happy with what Kimi has done this season. He is very good for the Red Bull brand and we are looking to extend his agreement into next year. I think this is likely.

Echoing similar emotions was Citroen’s WRC Race Director Olivier Quesnel,

I’m sure this will happen. For myself, he is really involved in rallying and he wants to succeed. I will be pleased if he will stay. he has done one year and he needs to do one more year to make sure.

Going by these statements at least, it seems that Kimi will continue to rally in WRC, at least for one more season.
