Sachsenring MotoGP: Valentino Rossi returns, well almost!

Valentino Rossi

Valentino Rossi

Italian MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi is all set to make a comeback, returning from a broken leg, he sustained earlier this year after crashing spectacularly at Mugello. In all probability, Rossi will make his comeback at the German leg of the MotoGP scheduled to be held at the Sachsenring. Rossi, who is raring to go and resume competitive motorcycle racing is waiting for the final go ahead from his doctors. Once that comes through, Valentino Rossi will don Fiat Yamaha’s overalls and ride his Yamaha M1 like only he can. Here’s what Rossi had to say about making a comeback at a circuit in which he incidentally has won more than anyone else on the planet.

Compared to Misano I have felt a lot more in shape (at Brno). After eight laps my shoulder and knee hurt, but I’ve made huge steps over the last five days. Last week everything would hurt. Being on the bike is good for me. Let’s wait for the last medical exam. If I decide to come back it means I’m able to do it. It won’t be a crazy thing. But I’ve really grown tired of staying home. I’ll need a couple of races to be competitive again: I expect to be able to show what I can do at Misano.

So, if his medical staff indeed advise him to go ahead and take part in the German GP, the legend should be able to thrill all of us like he had been doing so far. That said, expecting Valentino Rossi to be in peak form as soon as soon he returns to the competitive racing fold probably this week would be foolhardy as Rossi might need a couple of races to get back to his original racy best. any which ways, lets hope for the very best and keep our peeled out for the “Doctor” at the Sachsenring.
