SCOOP! 2013 Formula 1 may see Volkswagen on starting grid

When one German backs out, another takes it’s place. Rumour mills seem to be working overtime in saying that German conglomerate Volkswagen is nurturing Formula 1 dreams.

Rumours about VW joining Formula 1 has been making rounds for the past decade but this time around, it is said that VW may be entering the maximum of motorsports through Williams in 2013.

It was previously heard that VW would be entering Formula 1 through the Audi marque but instead Audi went on to hold good in Le Mans with their TDI monster.

Kris Nissen, VW’s motorsport boss says that the company is keen to participate in F1 but considering its commitment to the prestigious Dakar rally, the plans are set on backfoot.
