Tata Motors enters motorsports with “Tata Motors Full Throttle”!
In a testament to the age old motorsport adage, “Racing Improves the Breed”, Tata Motors is all set to jump head on into the deep end of Indian motorsport by launching the Tata Motors Full Throttle racing venture. This venture will spearhead Tata’s racing operations and will also enable future engine and chassis development of new products by means of a close synergy between Tata’s vehicle development and the racing efforts.Once Tata Motors gets into motorsport, we’re expecting a lot of technology finetuned at the race tracks to filter down to Tata’s road cars.
Perhaps the Indicas, Indigos and the Nanos of the future will handle like they are on rails and maybe, we’ll even have some terrific driving postures as opposed to sitting like chimps behind the wheel of the first generation Indicas. Previously, as early as 2000, Tata Motors was taking baby steps into the Indian motorsport world by developing the Tata Indica Sport through the services of race tuner J.Anand of Coimbatore.
The plan was to have a one off race series with the Indica at the forefront. Somehow, the plans never materialized and here we are again, at the cusp of something big as Tata Motors will hit the motor sport circuit by participating in the Desert Storm rally beginning from February 22 at Ahmedabad. Tata Motors Full Throttle will enter the event with a team of four cars, two Tata Safaris and two Tata Xenon XTs. Way to go Tata, and ICB takes great pride in wishing Tata Motors Full Throttle all the success in it’s motor sport endeavor.
