What do out-of-work Formula 1 drivers do for a living apart from compete in motorcycle races? Well, 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve is looking to set up his own Formula 1 race team christened “Villeneuve Racing”. The team is to compete in Formula 1 next season, according to German auto glossy, Auto Motor und Sport. The magazine claims that Villeneuve Racing would function from the friendly Formula 1 team neighbourhood, England and that it is one of the three candidates for the 13th and final place in pit lane.

The 39-year-old French-Canadian wanted to return to the cockpit earlier this year with Stefan GP, but the Serbian squad was refused an entry. According to AMuS, some 10 candidates originally made applications to race next year, but now there are only three in the running, including Villeneuve’s bid and the American-based Cypher Group.
