Honda CB Twister 110cc Road Test: Reader Review

Wonder what CB means? A book named “Everything you need to know about Honda Motorcycles”. Soichiro Honda, used the American alphabet to name his prototypes and I believe the type “C” ended up being the first production model. As he expanded his product offerings, a second letter was designed to sub-type the bike. So, our Honda CB Twister got that “CB” through this nomenclature.

Honda CB Twister Heart:

Honda CB Twister offers the best power rating in the 110cc segment. This 109 cc engine with a peak power of 8.4bhp@7500 rpm is more than what the TVS Star City’s(109.2cc) 8.1bhp@7500 rpm and Yamaha Crux/Alba’s(105.6cc) 7bhp@7500rpm. Peak power at high rpm means you need to rev the engine to higher rpm for better power (preferably in highways) but stick to lower rpm for better mileage (usually while you drive in city traffic.)

CB Twister Sticker Picture

Honda has already proved with it’s Unicorn engine, on how efficient its engine pulls at lower rpms without compromising on mileage. So it’s pretty obvious that you can putter around town at the 30 kph mark in top gear. Honda is careful about the mileage because CB Twister is targeted for mass commuting. Although the claim of 70KMPL under standard test conditions will be true only on papers, we can still expect a 65+ KMPL from CB Twister engine.

Honda CB Twister Behavior:

Ok, now coming to how CB Twister behaves on road. This little engine is smooth and even more refined than Honda Shine. The electric start was smooth and noiseless.  When I rode the bike, I felt as if I am in a 125 cc or 150 cc bike because of the tank design and the speedometer design. Also, the full black handles including the bolts, made me remember the ones on the Yamaha FZ16.

CB Twister Gear lever & Chain set:

The bike has a good road grip and front and back suspension worked well absorbing bad roads. I was easily able to shift the gears (1 down, 2-3-4 up). But while returning back to neutral from 4th gear, I heard a thud which surprised me. The clutch was sensitive. Hardly had I released the clutch, immediately the bike’s engine stalled in first gear. Horn sounds better and friendlier than a Shine. I was able to reach 40kmph in around 5 seconds, not bad for a 110 cc bike. The gear lever is like that of the Apache, and the chain set is 3/4th naked, racing spirit?

Honda CB Twister Styles & Features:

CB Twister Front cowls

CB Twister’s front cowl reminds me of a warrior’s helmet shape, very fresh. And it comes without any glass like materials, making it look more muscular. The indicators had an angular shape and looked contemporary.

CB Twister Tail lamps

Honda CB Twister tail lamp vs. Honda Shine tail lamp

The tail lamp’s side design made me remember the Honda Shine. The lamp buttons, horn button and high beam low beam buttons are little different though. Especially, there’s a toggle switch for low beam and high beam that is convenient. On the right side, the electric start switch must be pressed upwards to start the bike.

CB Twister speedometer vs. TVS Apache speedometer design

The speedometer (its not digital) looks may have been inspired from the mirror image of TVS Apache RTR 160, but the design is more attractive plus you cannot expect more than this stylish meter panel in a 110cc segment bike.

Honda CB Twister Tank vs.  Honda Stunner Tank

The tank shape and Honda logo sticker positions in an aerial view reminds me of the Honda Stunner although design is not as lengthy as the stunners’. The tank lid design looks old. But Honda managed to give a gross silverish finish differentiating from the older ones.

Honda CB Twister Front  vs. Honda Stunner Front

The front design of CB Twister is neither plain like a Shine/Unicorn nor too sporty like Stunner. It does have a pair of extra fittings with the tank that adds to its robust look. The tank shape could be compared to that of the Unicorn.

Honda CB Twister alloys vs. Honda Shine alloys

Honda CB Twister alloys looks different from other Honda bikes alloys in its perfect V shaped alloy strands, which adds to the beauty of the bike.

Honda CB Twister Sharp Rear vs. Honda Stunner Rear

I guess, Honda inherited the Stunner rear for CB Twister with more sharpness to give a sporty look to this 110cc bike. Also, the silencer has been shortened in length, which Honda claims as trendy and compact.  And CB Twister comes tubeless, as in Honda Stunner, in both front and rear tires gives the owner a trouble free commuting even through bad roads.

Honda CB Twister 110cc India

Honda CB Twister Green

CB Twister half chain case vs. Shine’s full chain case

The new half chain case will be latest and trendy in a CB twister but, shall force the owner to look into the chain set frequently for dust and mud, needless to say how rain water creates havoc to the bike’s chain during rainy days.

MF Battery in CB Twister

MF (Maintenance Free) Battery fitted into CB Twister differs from other bikes batteries (filler cap type.) These “MF” batteries were pioneered by Yuasa Battery Japan & first introduced on some Honda motorcycles in the mid-80s. MF battery’s advantage over the filler cap type is mainly its more compact size for a given cranking power & their anti-vibration glass-wool supportive plate separators.

This battery fully absorbs and holds the free acid electrolyte by capillary attraction thereby allowing the battery to be mounted even in an inclined position for a lower riding seat height and battery tests show that these batteries retain their charge better. Plainly stating, you need not worry about the warranty expiry date of CB Twister’s battery.

Honda CB Twister Pricing:

Wonder how much does it cost? The self starter + disc brake version of CB Twister costs Rs. 49,650 (ex-showroom) and hence, on road price is Rs. 55012(Insurance Rs.910 and Registration + Tax Rs. 4452). Honda provides you extended warranty of 3 years apart from the regular 2 years warranty for a price of Rs.625.

To book the bike, you need to pay an advance of Rs.1000/- and you shall get the bike delivered from 30-45 days. Not even a single bike is delivered till date (18/2/10) because Honda is giving the bike to customers at the end of February.

Accessories Price:

Number Plate: Rs. 210

Seat Cover: Rs.225

Hand Grip: Rs.60

Indicator Buzzer: Rs.60

Body cover: Rs.395

Final Verdict:

Honda has taken its time to read the Indian minds and have done the best move by placing an 110cc bike. With the threats of rising fuel prices, two wheeler makers can grab mass profits by launching more fuel efficient & fabulous bikes like this CB Twister.

No by-Pass switch like honda shine and unicorn otherwise its very good and im waiting for accessories.

    Thanks, Pal

  5. Ganesh on March 12th, 2010 1:32 pm

In CB Twister there is no pass swicth(headLight),
It should be there like all other 100cc segements
(We can see in TVS star-city, Hero honda Passion Pro, now in Passion Plus also)It will be helpful while overtaking.

    hello friends,
I’m getting my choice clear for Honda Twister.
The pass switch is not there but(as i think) its not that necessary thing as if you are overtaking you’ll need the pass switch but this bike is for good average and style and not for much speeding.
Else the bike is good to ride and for style but still I’m confused for the thing is about the body material and the spare parts of the bike.Is the body powerful and resistant?
And what about its maintenance and service?
Please reply if anyone can help.
    thank u

  13. rajiv on May 5th, 2010 10:07 am

i hav purchased this bike…. i would like to mention that it is very light weight bike n its tyres r thin , so in bad roads it is difficult to ride comfortably … In general conditions u cannot ride comfortably above 60kmph speed in this bike…moreover chain should be protected frm mud n water otherwise it makes a light sound when u press the clutch….But it has a nice pick up and good looks.
So if road conditions r good then u can buy this bike….

  14. chris on May 13th, 2010 10:18 am

h!,readers..the first thing i want to tell u all are, in the road CB looks so sexy with honda’s tefloan coating…when we think about comfortness i’ll not agree with Rajiv bcos as i’m an med.representative i’d gone many roads and i feel no such problems like rajiv,i’m not praising the bike so much..it gave me 69km/l mileage .. so if u are a midclasser /a young student you can bought this to your home at a cost of 53,400/-[self,drum] from ‘COCHIN’[kerala].

  15. Puneet Mittal on May 13th, 2010 4:04 pm

    hi friends,
i hv purchased this bike n i’m very much satisfied with it.first of all i would like to clear that this bike is meant for good mileage n not for speeding or racing.its giving me 65km/l on Delhi roads.that’s why the tyres r thin to give a good mileage.yet the bike runs at 60-70km/h very smoothly n being stylish is a plus point for it in 100-110cc segment bikes(Splendor,TVS Star City,CD Deluxe,Discover,Passion etc).so if u want a racing bike then go for pulsar,karima,CBZ,FZ,R15,Apache etc.this bike is the very good in this segment having smartness and good mileage with a smooth & comfortable ride.another thing that the chain cover is not there….its a probm for me,bt this(u can say)is a new trend which is now coming in most of the models of different brands as well(Bajaj,Hero Honda,Yamaha).it may be a probm for someone and may be a new style for the others, that depends.
    thank u.

  16. Arjun Chalvadhi on May 16th, 2010 2:18 pm

    Hi,

I bought cb twister recently and found it very confortable on roads. Mileage is awsome.. bi-pass light not available however, that is not that important.. coz overtaking needs bit of a judgement and not a button.. looks are amazing. Best bike in 100-110 segment.

    Thank you.

  17. amitpal on May 18th, 2010 1:35 am

@GAGAN-The pricing of the bike vary according to different states, so u should go to Honda’s website or ex-showroom n check it out for Ur state.the colors available in this bike are Red, Green, Blue which u can see in the above pics & rest r Black n Yellow. No silver or Grey.

@Chadan-u have all the features of this bike, cost n other availabilities in 110c bikes n moreover the comments of users using this bike.so its up to u whether to purchase the bike or not.

  22. Rajan on June 3rd, 2010 10:09 am

The Vehicle is over priced by 4K or They should give Rear Wheel with Disc breakes also for that price , Also Optional Full chain cover should be given , Let the vehicle comes without Chain cover.

Note: HErohonda New passion pro Fully loaded is 119 kgs.
CB Twister : With half chain cover , No sarree guard , No Number plate , No Side foot stand , No Tools Box , No Bumber. No mirrors.

I feel that Honda Is just cheating in Indian 2 wheeler market.

Also Herohonda sound come up with Verticial 100 CC Vehicle , It is Easy Escape, In India For vehicle registration , You should have number plate fixed , Mirrors , Saree guard , Bumpers are mandatory, With Chain covers.

Honda should Reduce price of all vehicles by Rs.8000 INR in Two vheeler Segment.

  23. Rajan on June 3rd, 2010 10:14 am

Also Dealer will get profit of 8 k minimum , 4K for over priced , 2 k for WArranty service , 2 k for Selling the vehicle. IT is just honda 2 wheelers marketing pattern to eat money from customers.

Also they get extra money by fitting non-recommended parts like Handle grip , Tank cover , Add on seat cover , Helmet lock , Writing number plates but they donot write just they use Sticker but as per RTO Stickers should not be used in Number plate. Filling pucher free fluid , And body Scratch protector for Auto geared vehicle , Teflon coating etc , Overall Honda 2 wheeler vehicle is 5 to 10 K over priced.

    Just Media hipe..!!

I bought my twister last month.great bike for beginners.I tested bike with 4 liters petrol and it gave me exactly 69 KM/liter.but you have to be slow on throttle while accelerating and drive in 3rd or 4th gear to get 70-72 km/Liter with single rider.

  32. rohan on July 12th, 2010 11:04 am

guys dont forget to maintain tyre pressure on your CB twister to get maximum fuel avarage.cheers!!

Sleep in Floor without pillow/Matress and Donot go in for horse riding more than twice a week or practice every day and improve your staminia and immune system.

One have to recall the Shocks Curve Rating and speed response. The Old Fasion Grabeli Shocks creates more wibes over rider, Also avoid Seat covers more than 1 layer.

Hi All, well a mixed bag of comments above! Can any one let me know whether this bike would be suitable for tall persons. I am 5.9-10. Will there be any prob with bending of legs, backpain, etc, as tall people experience.

I am pretty sure to get this bike, but above queries are bothering me!

    Thanks_Dev

    @ dEV,

    I Hv 6.1
its comfortable in shrt journey, bt for long journey u look for othrt option ,its tyre size also small, so in my opinion go for highted byke lyke CBZ etc.

  41. Dev G. on August 4th, 2010 7:39 pm

    Thanks Jay for replying.
Well I would be using the bike for short journeys only, like “to office”, market etc. No Long trips.

Cbz is out of my budget! :)
i am totally flattered by this bike from Honda!
any other perspect, do let me know!

hi to all cb twister is not fit for family man
why beacause when a girl is sitting behind the
rider with saree the dangerous thing is chain
sprocket and chain can cause serious injuries
which lead to fatal saree guard is just only
eye wash so twister110cc is only suitable for

guyz this review is the perfect review i ever read for cb twister. i bought my twister on 23rd september 2010.wow i am loving it.it gives me the mileage of 70 + on the highways and 67km/ltr exact in the city, 4 days back i replaced my rear tyres to a broad (100-90-17) size. it reduced my mileage to 63 km/ltr in the city,i dont care as now i got both style and mileage too as the original tyres are too thin for such a sexy ride. people who r still thinking to buy this bike or not,i wud say do not think just visit the showroom and own this super sexy babe ,i bet ull ride it for lifetime as i have decided to ride this bike for lifetime.

hi… i m driving twister for 7 months… i never got mileage more than 60 on highway n 45-50 in city in best riding conditions…i dont know why people r telling lie..
also i replaced my battery after 3 months as it was completely exhausted…
i would lyk to clear that chain makes some noise if regular oiling is not done.
Regarding comfort, it is not very comfortable in bad roads as it is very light weight n has thin tyres…in good road conditions it is nice… it has a great pickup…
one thing i would lyk to mention that it is not good for family persons because it is dificult for ladies wearing sharee to sit comfortably due to high back seat…

Rajiv if your bike doesnt give mileage of above 60 that doesnt mean u can call every a liar over here.i myself get 67+ after even after getting my rear tyre changed to a broad one.initially i use to get 71.6 easily.
Your mileage shows how your riding would be.Improve your riding and thn chk your avrg .Jerk !

    Hi Mahesh,
As you know, 80/100 is in metric system, 100/80 is in alpha metric. The table shows sizes in METRIC, ALPHA METRIC and IMPERIAL systems of measurement.

  101. mahesh on November 30th, 2010 12:04 pm

    @ Tushar / Moderaters,

    Thanks for ur replies…

    But see in that table,

    for front tyre
    metric 80/100 = 100/80 ALPHA
    For rear tyre
    metric 80/100 = 80/90 ALPHA

This is more confusing….Please compare all the 3 unit system… :(

  102. Rajan on December 2nd, 2010 5:53 am

non-experienced bike purchasers and riders, Do know one stuff All the bikes are Good, But you have to see for what purpose you buy or put your momeny. You may be multi millioniare but In India Automobile means that you have to more wear and tear occurs due to forien matters (dirt) , In countries where there is no dust particles in Air you can drive care free also road conditions are good.
On Average in India every one kilometers you will find atleast one Road hump , only in Highways for some distance you can drive in better speed. Most of two wheelers have habit of using Clutch for long time Gear changes or down shift Clutch should be used less than 2 seconds max. Also Recomended driving speed should not be more than 40 kmph to 50 kmph , Also un-necessary Accleration should be avoided then you will get better Mileage , In Twister average in Traffic I will get 2 to 5 kms extra means 75 kmpl , But When I Give more throttle for speed above 60kmph then I will get only 55kmpl. @93kmph I get only 43kmpl. @58kg weight of rider without pillion rider.

Concerns for Indian users better to have Chain cover that should be perfect only in Herohonda,Bajaj , TVS vehicle Chain covers are better designed.
Seating height for Sports bike style Rear seat is just for Show means no one takes pillion when you do sports with motorbike. Should be noted.
As per Indian RTO rules Two wheelers Max speed to do in Road is 40 to 50kmph only. Any Traffic police can charge you Rs.1000 for overspeeding which is not safe for others.
Motor sports will not be recommended by any Parents in India.
When you say Green then why you need Gas / Fuel to burn extra and damage Ozone layer by your vehicle.

So use Bi-cycle if you want to travel with in 10kms up and down , Also jolly drive use bi-cycle when you move with in your locality.
Try to use public transport which is also socializing means you can rub your butts with opposite genders too , When you do party you do the same in club the same you can do in city bus also. Note take care when you do butt rubs.

When you prefer bike for Touring means in a year you may take motorbike for few 100 kms for picnic but you know that Monkeys in India is more so better do picnic in your cars which is safe for your belongings and eatables during the tour.

When you are outside India people show thier responsiblity but when you are in India try to be more responsible.

Indian Government should ban All Two wheelers which are beyond 150CC Engines. In India we need Geared vehicle with 50CC Engines which will give more mile per galon or more kms per lit of fuel.

One have to wait and see, because next era we should enter into Electric and LPG based vehicle.

  103. mahesh on December 2nd, 2010 3:28 pm

    @Rajan
    Great comment man…! u r absolutly right..!

  104. Rajan on December 3rd, 2010 4:55 am

I will post Cross-wiring diagram with Add-on Switch and Second relay which is required. means when you drive in Well-lit Road you donot require headlinght just for opposite vehicles to alert them you need City light or parking light or position light,
The circuit will have Ground relay Ckt for head lamp , And front and back tail lamp glow switch, Mostly I will post Text pattern of wiring diagram. If you are Auto enthu you can do it yourself.

Also I recall when Honda says Any Gagets used in electricial system will void warranty of so Even Ading Buzzer in Vehicle during warranty period also voids warranty. [ Buzzers are not certified by honda during water wash dust can enter buzzers and short ckt the Control board which can cause problem to your Vehcile Electricial system.

Note: When you buy vehicle ensure that you Get Warranty card for your Tyres,Battery , Spark plug this are carried out by respective vendors , Honda service care donot handle the same.

Good point is that If Bosh Super or Mico Super plug is used in Vehicle it is well and good. In My old Vehcile I have used Bosh Super plug for 70000kms without any problem I broke the plug when I tried to remove when it was hot. In 18 years of old bike ownership I replaced Spark plug only 2vice. I have used the vehcle more than 150000 kms. So People just says to change plugs do that only if you really nead one. But Tyres and breaks you duly replace without any hesitiation.

CB twister – good or bad ??

  106. Rajan on December 14th, 2010 7:11 am

The Theme of Twister is Sports bike to attract youngsters. There in IT fit in the CAP – It is better as per thier selling and Design point of view. But To improve Indian Economy means One time purchase of motorbike that you use for several decades then Changes in Twister required are
    1. Heal and Toe Shift gear leaver [ I have Woodland shoe cost around 3K which was spoiled with in 1 month time ] and Office Shoes you cannot wear with Scratched Shoe Toe.
    2. Whether Chain Cover really protects derbis of Inidan Road condition , But Factory Designed Full Chain Cover is must for the vehicle as optional fitting.
    3. Grab Rail with Carrier will be Ideal also to lift the vehicle when parked in Narraw lot which will be helpful.

Ignoring the Facts , Pick Twister with Disc breaks to that you can save your wrists when you drive above 60kmph. Rear Breaks Honda Can provide 130 mm Standard for all vehicles.

If you drive as per “Economy mode conditions ” and Switch off the vehcile when you have to wait in City traffic signals etc. you will get around 78kmpl. Ensuring that you drive the motorbike as power plant means donot waste the power un-necessaraly just to attract Girls when you drive in road. ” Avoid un-necessary Accleration when you drive ”

There in Twister is better deal, Vehicle Height you have to Compromise if you are more than 5.7 feet height. Because vehicle is designed for people height 5.0 and above. To match every one need.

TVS too better deal but TVS donot provide Disc breaks for 100CC cat vehicle.

  107. Rajan on December 14th, 2010 7:28 am

Indicator Buzzer Cost Rs.8 to 10 when you pick from Electronic Spares part shop, Connect Parallel to Flasher Control Relay , [ Check for Polarity +ve and -ve for proper functioning. Let me know now many units Honda Retail shop require I will suppy at the Rate of Rs.25 to them any where in India. Just Business Deal with Honda.

Number plates Front and Rear With Screws Cost Rs.60 which you can pick from any Automobie shop Screws and nuts to mount Cost Rs.6.

In first Service Centerifugal Filter and Oil Stainer to be cleaned , Do honda Serice really do that no. But Customers will end up paying the Bill for Consumables.

Engine Oil : Rs.150 approx [800ml oil Can ] 10/30 grade. Oil Drain Washer – cost Rs.1 but they donot replace with new one. Clutch case to be removed to Clean the oil filter , The Packing kit in local market cost Rs.25. But honda Service center donot do the job. But They will mention during Free service to be handled.

    - In Simple way Whether it is branded Showroom Service centre or Local Garriage Mechanics and Service Supervisors are Paid Less there in They just bluff most of times , For Expert Mechanic when all spares parts are there to Do Complete overhaul of vehicle by removing part by parts they should complete the job work with in 6 hours max.
Let it be Bullet or TVS vehicle or honda or bajaj.

    I recommend that

  108. Mahesh on December 14th, 2010 8:45 pm

Sorry But I Short Twister is Good Or Bad
As Some peoples are saying that After running 600kms,milage degradesto 50km/ltr.
Accessaries are in Market now but what about the Chain Gaurd?
    Overall Performance?

  109. shekar on December 15th, 2010 2:59 pm

Rajan’s comments are thought provoking and to the point. Good Review Rajan  . <>

  110. sravan on December 15th, 2010 5:27 pm

I have a problem with my twister. when i am shifting from 2 to 3rd gear at low rpm, it is sticking and seems like there is neutral gear in between. Service centre guys are telling they cannot see any problem.please tell me what to do?

  111. Rajan on December 16th, 2010 7:37 am

Use the vehcile for 5000 kms+ drive in Slow and Constant and without any panic your brain will send better signals to control the vehicle there in you drive just like that without any problem. Also while down shifting gears donot use Clutch just shift Gears.

Gradually Gear seating will become better. , Donot allow mechanics to play around Carb. Without Calibriation equipments. If Mileage low may be due to your driving habits the next comes vehicle tunning issues.

When Feul cost are increasing every month you should try to achive better cost savings by your driving skills.

If your vehicle is Good old Vehicle Then you have to replace 2nd Gear Gear set. During Engine Overhaul.

  112. Mahesh on December 16th, 2010 10:16 am

So tell me in Short whether the Twister is Good Or Bad ? Is it Durable?

  113. Jay Prashanth on December 16th, 2010 12:48 pm

    Folks,

Will all due respect to Rajan, please do not follow his advice on downshifting. Always use the clutch to downshift. Not using the clutch during downshifting can seriously damage the transmission!

Upshifting can sometimes be done without the clutch. However, only experienced riders who know to blip the throttle while upshifting at moderate rpms may do so. For best results and transmission longevity, use the clutch. If it has been provided by the manufacturers, it is there for a purpose.

    Cheers,

    Jay

  114. Rajan on December 18th, 2010 3:52 am

[To over come the problem of 2nd to 3rd Gear False gearing in new vehicles I suggest to do couple of times Gear cutting during the drive], Sravan’s issue for his new Twister, The Clutch plates in motorbikes are Wet clutch so ensure that you have to maintain Oil level

But Jay’s point if Clutch usage to be considered in different aspect.

When you report the problem to any service center for Single Cylinder Engines They do during test do gear Cutting drive couple of times if there is real Gear Teeth problem one can easily identify them.

[In my point of view Chain / Sprocket Should Last for more than 1 lakhs kms without any Chain biting and Slippery during cut drives etc] Honda Vehicle is Costly in its segment by 5K INR.

    1. Twister has Better Wheel Alloys, 6 Spoke wheel. USP in 100CC Segment.
    2. Short Handle bar advantage for cut drives, USP in 100CC Segment
    3. Disc breaks Stress free breaking USP in 100CC Segment
    4. Extra 1 Bhp gives you advantage USP in 100CC Segment.
    5. Sports style bike so no Full chain cover – more money for Honda.
    6. Fasteners used in Honda vehicle is Cutting Edge Designed one [Bolts and nuts embedded with Washers in other vehicles in few places only they are used] where in other brands in India use different grade of bolts and nuts and Local Carriage guys can also replace with sub-standard one which you don’t know during service

For Most of Software Techies and several youngsters talk of motorbike is height of Innocence about the vehicle.

For first time Buyers of Twister Consider your Shoe life and Full Chain cover, If you donot require Full Chain cover Throw in dust bin from the new vehicle. Do you buy the vehicle since IT donot have chain cover?

    Have fun and safe riding.

City Bikes can be converted into Sports bike without much cost less than 200 INR. But Sports bike Conversion to City bike you have to sell out money for Chain cover , Gear Shift lever modificiation , Pillion rider foot pegs, Handle bars etc.

Motorbikes are One time purchase from your hard earned earnings so go in for relevant City bike.

If you have surplus money just for fun you need Motorbike then Twister is Ideal.

You have reliable Engine , Better Breaks , But you have to lube the chain by yourself or visit Garriage Once in Fortnight.

Also Due to styling of Motorbike it is not designed for elder pillion riders for Single side Seating with Saree one have to take extra plus precaurtions.

Hai I am abhay Recently i bought my new bike Honda CB Twister. It is more comfort to ride. And it has well calibar like 150cc segment bike in this 110cc bike. But The rear tyre is skidding during the speed at 60km and at the condition of sudden break.

i have purchased cb twister it has a nice look, good accelaration, good mileage, the problem is it has a very low speed so i replaced engine sprocket just after 3 days when i purchase it. It’s not a torquey engine, timing chain is noisy, but still nice to ride,

Hai I Mahesh from Jaipur. I purchased Honda Twister bike (Self, Disk brake, Alloy wheel)on 17th Dec. 10.
As per company recommendation 1st Gear is applicable up 20kmph Speed, 2nd Gear up to 40 KMPH, 3rd Gear upto 80 KMPH and 4th Gear above 100 KMPH( Correct me if I am wrong). Practically riding there is no knoking/ problem at speed of 40 KMPH. If I ride at 40 to 50 KMPH speed in 4th Gear, will it harm engine? Will it be adverse for milleage of bike? Kindly guide me.

Honda CB twister is very nice and comfotable bike. I owned it three months ago and rock the roads of Kathmandu to Butwal twice time. But there is no bypass switch and I have just changed my rear tyre 100-90-17 MRF now it’s really sporty. Looking forward for some new accesories of CB Twister.

  120. Jay Prashanth on December 20th, 2010 5:10 pm

    MDB,

A speed of 40 Kph in 4th gear is absolutely alright on the Honda CB Twister. Third gear will do for speeds below 40 and above 25 Kph. It will not have any adverse effect on the mileage if you stick to the gear shift pattern recommended above. More importantly, make sure you do not lug the engine or ride at too high a gear for a low speed and as far as you don’t hear any knocking or don’t lug the engine, you should be alright.

    Cheers,

    Jay

    Hi Sanjiv Kr. Chy.,
If you are planning to buy a bike for transport purpose, Honda Twister is the best in under 150 cc range. This bike is giving average of 82 Kilometers per litre in city condition. Good pick up, confortable riding, 5 years warranty of Engine, latest technology engine . Top speed of twister should be above 100 ( I have not tried).Best wishes.

  127. dariel on January 6th, 2011 5:58 pm

im a cb twister owner,i suggest that if u use ds bike lets say at 70 km/h or above u hav 2 inspect d valve clearance bcoz 8 easily increase. be sure d technician should use feeler gauge to exactly measure d valve gap 8s .10 mm both intake and exhaust. If not adjusted performance of d bike s very much afected..replace also d engine sprocket make it 15 t then.twister is a very nice bike im geting 65 kml, good pickup equivalent in performance with my xrm125 but cb has more advance aceleration.im also a mechanic from Philippines.

    Hi Raj,
I purchased CB Twister in the month of December 2010. I am very happy with this bike. I my wife alongwith my 2 months son happily city ride on this bike. If lady is wearing traditional dress she can easily sit one side but saree guard with foot rest is essential. If your wife wears jeans /trouser no need of saree guard.Happy biking

I feel that further posting for the vehicle is just pounding same stuff. Every Vehicle Manufactured after Testing from AARI and Indian motor Act VEhicle comes on Road. As Per India Any Automobile should get RTO Approvals even you change color of your vehicle. Motorbike in India Roads are for Commuting purpose. 145. mustafa on February 18th, 2011 12:26 pm

    Hi freinds,
ive been using CB TWISTER for almost a year now. beleive me its the best bike in its segment. with a mileage of 65+ per litre n a top speed of 102(tried myself). The bike makes more noise compared to unicorn n shine coz of its short exhaust. But overall a good purchase for mid aged ppl n youngsters as it has a stylish look. Speaking about pulsars n discovers….. lets just say that they’ll work at their best for not more than 2 years but honda bikes as v all know vil never give probs b4 5years from the date of its purchase. So ppl who r thinking to buy twister are on the right path….. its a lite bike with extraordinary looks n biking experience…. ive been to lonavla twice on it n after running constantly for 300km i yet dnt have any complains… So guys just go for it… awesome bike…

  150. Michael on March 15th, 2011 1:04 am

Competitive pricing, great style, but it does not live up to reputation. It is a failure according to motorcycle mechanics. I have had a terrible experience owning this bike for just 14 days.

It should be noted you don’t buy a bike according to our weight, height, age group and etc. A SUCCESSFUL TWO WHELER IS A ONE WHICH IS IDEAL FOR
EVERYONE. For e.g., Splendor, TVS XL Super, Scooty, Activa, Shine etc.

Some of these reviews do not sound genuine and I could see after a review of criticism, a review favors the vehicle. I really don’t know who advise to buy this vehicle.

Please do not purchase this vehicle as it suffers a series of problems. I will summarize them:

    1) CAUSE : Regarding comfort, it is not at all comfortable for solo rider as you could witness the abnormal riding position of the vehicle, the short length of the
bike, the structure of rear portion, abnormal positioning of foot rests, the poor build of the body using fibre & plastics (like toys).

EFFECT: BODY PAIN & knee pain.

    2) CAUSE: Regarding pillion rider comfort, it scores zero. Poor positioning of rear seat (too tall for any one), HARD SHOCKS and thin tyres which is not ideal for the build of the bike.

EFFECT: Body pain for pillion rider including gents & youngsters, no handle bar
    for safety,

    3) CAUSE: Half chain case may be trendy but it took me frequent maintenance as it can accumulate dust, mud etc.

    EFFECT: More maintenance costs.
Factory Designed Full Chain Cover is a must for the vehicle as optional fitting.

    4) CAUSE: Absence of a Heal & toe gear shift lever.

EFFECT: I HAD experienced TOE & LEG pain because I use my left leg fingers
to shift gears. Even youngsters should painstakingly conceive it.
Should we twist our fingers for having bought a twister?

    5) CAUSE: I suffered from bright beams during on flow traffic at night. I WONDER why this was excluded in a Rs.55,000 motorcycle. This shows the manufacturer is least bothered about safety & security.

EFFECT: Absence of a pass light can lead to accident as you could not concentrate & don’t have a facility to alert the on flow traffic coming past you.

    6) CAUSE: Poor resale value for a motorcycle which has won numerous awards. I enquired so many but according to 2 WHEELER CONSULTANTS,one would buy it ONLY below Rs.45,000 after owning it for just 2 weeks.

EFFECT: Loss of hard earned money Rs.10,000 for having purchased a vehicle which has
    a poor resale assessment.

Does it make any sense to buy this motorcycle.? PLEASE THINKKK…….. B4 YOU BUY.

CONCLUSION OF REVIEW: Honda is a good brand. According to my point of view a bike such as CB Shine, or may be CB Unicorn may well be a better choice to enjoy the experience of owning a bike.

I have bought Twister this month in chandigarh guys can u believe its giving me the mileage of around 60. If u constantly drive on a speed of 40 – 50 it will gives u better mileage, as u all knw its nt a racing bike, we buying it for mileage. Performance is good.. i have bought top model with disk and self.. there’s a little bit problem with handle, bt i hope it would be fine after its 1st service. Types are tubeless so they have a good grip on the road.. enjoy the ride.. if u r looking for mileage then go for this bike.. else u have so many options..

No, its falls Neel, but its back tyre is not much grip, so it slipped on rainy day and muddy road very much. and hondas Spare Parts problem is horrible for anyone including me. my spare till not available past 9 month.

    To Idiacarsbike Representative,

My spare parts are not available from 9 months. If I lodge a complain on CONSUMER FORUM against HONDA, can I get my parts as soon as possible???

  187. Jay Prashanth on September 19th, 2011 12:31 pm

    Rajesh,

By all means, go ahead and register a complaint in the Consumer Forum against Honda for defective service as the long time taken by them to service you’re request is indeed a defective quality of service. Also, you may share details about your problem if you want us to publish it on ICB so that others may be alerted to the spare parts issue of the Honda CB Twister. You can send me an email on jayprashanth(at)indiancarsbikes(dot)in.

    Cheers,

    Jay

I purchased honda twister in january 2011.
After some weeks it have problem in gear box, while changing the gears it create noise like a bad scooter,
Its battery gets dead in every 2-3 months,
but all other things are very good.
i also want to say about service center that they take so much time in parts replacement, my own battery gets dead 3 times, and all the 3 times they gave me the same battery after some charging.

So what i dislike about it:
    1. chain making noise
    2. gear box problem while changing gear
    3. battery problem

    and i like about it:
    1. smooth driving
    2. best handling due to handle near to hands
    3. good pick up
    4. stylish look with good mileage in just rs.50,000

I am not any biased but says real facts. I purchase CB twister after read many review and writes what I get after 1st service.

    1. Very stylish look choice able to youngest.
    2. Head Lamp powerful than ordinary 100cc bike advantage for night rider.
    3. Pickup good and u can ride 20kms/hr at 4th gear-no problem.
    4. At this time I get 71km/lit millage (resv to resv with 14 times fly over crossing in 100kms road)
    5. No vibration till 55-60 km/hr speed.

    problem I face.
    1. Very skidding in nature if u use sudden brake accident must occur.
    2. Poor gear performance, some times slipping or locking.
    3. There no pass switch. problem for night rider.
    4. sometimes hi/lo push switch fail and lock.
    5. There is no position to mount side hook to marketing carry bag.
    6. Kick start is very hardy and Steffie in nature.

    1. Very skidding in nature if u use sudden brake accident must occur— 100% AGREE.
    2. Poor gear performance, some times slipping or locking.— NOT AGREE
    3. There no pass switch. problem for night rider.– ITS PROBLEMETIC
    4. sometimes hi/lo push switch fail and lock.— NEVER HAPPEN IN 16000 KM RUN
    5. There is no position to mount side hook to marketing carry bag.. –R8 BRO
    6. Kick start is very hardy and Steffie in nature.– I DONT THINK SO THOUGH I USE SELF START

AND LAST….if Honda replace their back tyre its good for gripp. more wide tyre should use.

    Hi ,

I have recently purchased the HONDA CB twister but I am getting very less mileage even after the first service (40-45km/lit). Please advice , what I can do to improve my mileage , as I am not professional rider and it is my first Bike.

    Thanks ,
    Mohit

    Hi Mohit Gupta,
Pls try to follow the following as I mention below those things give you better mileage.

    1. Use less Clutch and Don’t use it more than 2 sec for gear shifting.

    2. Try to maintain ur riding speed between 40-50km/hr.

    3. Most of the time, try to use 4th gear at the time of riding.

    4. Don’t take sudden acceleration; maintain smoother acceleration.

    5. Go another service centre or skilled personnel for fuel adjusting screws with great care because CB Twister comes with a little bit different type special mini compact engine. Fuel adjusting should be as such that after starting the engine if you ever just release the accelerator to normal (zero) position i.e. without pick-up on neutral condition bike engine will not stopped at all. If ur fuel adjusting is not done properly (higher/lesser), engine will stop under my pre-defined saying. Although there are so many things to be considered for fine adjusting the fuel.

    6. Avoid frequent starting to cover short distance travel in frequent manner.

    7. And finally you have to make urself as a skilled rider too.

I think these info will help you to get better mileage if you maintain them. All the best best of luck.

IF YOU GET BETTER MILEAGE THROUGH THESE, PLZ DONT FORGET TO INFORM ME Mr. Mohit.
