Maruti will finally launch a successor for the ever-popular Swift hatchback, as a test mule of the car was spied in India.
The successor to one of the most highly successful Maruti models, the Swift hatchback is coming soon. We had already received the all-new compact sedan, the Maruti Dzire (read our in-depth review here) and the car is setting the sales charts on fire. Things should be the same way for the all-new 2018 Maruti Swift hatchback as well!
Using the all-new HEARTECT platform, the new Maruti Swift is about 10-15% lighter than its predecessor and has a lower centre of gravity as well, which should aid in good driving dynamics. The chassis is also stiffer as well, which should make the car more stable and fun to drive as well.
New Maruti Swift is now lighter and sports a completely new design.
There isn’t much upgrades in the engine front though with the same 1.2 petrol & 1.3 diesel engines carried over. It should be interesting to see how this move turns out in front of the rest of the competition, which are pushing out more figures, namely the Ford Figo, but the new Swift is light on its feet. AMT options should also be made available on both petrol and diesel engines.
Interiors will also be a step-up and will have both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There will be better cabin and better boot space as well. All of this new bits should make the rivals in this segment like the Hyundai Grand i10, get up and take notes as the new Swift will be topping the sales charts soon! Hope they bring the Swift Sport model as well or introduce a 90 bhp diesel one with the VGT and the slightly more grownup K14 engine for a bit more petrol grunt.
The all-new Swift will be launched at the 2018 Auto Expo and deliveries will start later in the year.

Too lazy to type anything, so re quoting from the best F1 driver in the world:
“On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.”
