2012 Piaggio Vespa LX125 Automatic Scooter: More details emerge!
India’s first lifestyle scooter offering, the Vespa LX125, will be launched in te next couple of months in India. We got in touch with one of our sources at Piaggio India, who revealed at few crucial details about the scooter to us. The Vespa LX125, which will be powered by a four stroke 125cc engine mated to an automatic CVT transmission, will be built at Piaggio India’s Baramati manufacturing unit in Maharashtra. The first batch of Vespa LX125s, in white color, have already been produced at the plant and are ready to be shipped to the various Vespa showrooms across India.

The Vespa LX125 automatic scooter is expected to be launched with many segment leading features underscoring its appeal and positioning as a lifestyle scooter offering. The Vespa LX125′s price, although not yet finalized is expected to be somewhere in the range of INR 58,000 to 65,000 on road. Meanwhile, here’s a list of features on the Vespa LX125,
* 125cc engine, with class leading power and torque figures at 10.7 Bhp and 9.6 Nm
* Chrome strip on mudguard and front body
* Digital Clock in the instrumentation console
* Rubber foot strips on the floor board

Based on the response that its first lifestyle offering, the Vespa LX125 gets, Piaggio India could bring in more lifestyle scooters to the Indian market. Piaggio is also planning to bring iconic Italian motorcycle brand, Moto Guzzi, to India, in the coming years. Piaggio is putting finishing touches on the first 50 dealerships across 35 Indian cities. 100 more dealerships will be added over the next 2 years. The dealerships, which will have a look and feel to befit the lifestyle positioning of the Vespa LX125, will also sell Vespa branded lifestyle accessories.

This question may be a little off-topic, Vespa scooters are among the oldest names inside the scooter company. They have been manufacturing motor scooters because 1946 and their models are in good demand world broad. There are several favored Vespa motor scooters which range inside size from 50cc to 200cc.
