Facelifted Mahindra Duro Powerscooter to be launched in December, in an ICB Exclusive!

Team ICB brought you the first ever images of the facelifted Mahindra Duro Powerscooter spotted testing in and around Pune. Today we begin the day with yet another exclusive, and this one is coming straight from Mahindra Two Wheelers. While we won’t yet name who exactly has given us this bit of information, Mahindra Two Wheelers will launch the facelifted version of the Mahindra Duro Powerscooter come this December.

In the facelifted Duro, Mahindra Two Wheelers has made a host of changes that will make the Duro ride and look better. Primary of these changes, is of the adoption of a new telescopic front suspension which replaces the unit link suspension. The telescopic forks will mean that the Duro now joins the likes of the Suzuki Access 125 and the TVS Wego in offering a suspension package that will offer much better bad road handling and ride comfort.

The other changes that we managed to spot was a curvier headlamp up front and a refreshed instrumentation console. The Mahindra Duro will retain the 125cc four stroke engine that produces 8 Bhp of peak power and 9 Nm of peak torque. This engine is also one of the more powerful units in its class and should endow the Duro with some sprightly performance compared to the competition.

All said, it remains to be seen whether these changes, which are actually useful ones, will actually do anything to impact the Duro’s sales, which haven’t really been as good as Mahindra Two Wheelers would like it to have been. While that is something that remains to be decided by the forces of the market, we hope to bring you a comprehensive ride report of the promising new Mahindra Duro very soon. Keep an eye on this space.
