New Mahindra Kine Scooter 2010: TVS Scooty Pep’s challenger

Just out of school PYTs, will soon get a brand new way to scoot across town, with Mahindra Two Wheelers all set to launch a small capacity scooterette called the Kine. With the Kine, Mahindra Two Wheelers expects to take on TVS Motors’ Scooty Pep, the current market leader.

The Mahindra Kine features a 80cc four stroke engine that has been developed jointly by Mahindra’s Taiwanese collaborator SYM and Engines Engineering of Italy, a subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra. The new scooterette is expected to sell for a very competitive price and is also expected to come with a range of features, bettering or equalling the current market leader, Scooty Pep.

The Mahindra Kine will be produced at Mahindra Two Wheelers Pithampur plant and is expected to be launched sometime in March. Watch this space.

You may also want to look at the Scooty Teenz. It has a better after sales than Mahindra and is a better product overall.
