Piaggio says that the Vespa LX125 is a lifestyle scooter, here’s some proof!

In India, the Bajaj Chetaks and Priyas of yore were workhorses and there are nor two things to that. So much so, the legend goes that a certain Ratan Tata witnessed an Indian couple on a scooter, with a couple of kids, also on the same scooter, in pouring rain. Lo and behold, the idea for the Tata Nano was born. So, scooters being associated with a choice of lifestyle a decade ago would have been like saying that “getting wet in the rain with my wife and kids is something we do as a lifestyle thing regularly”. Jokes apart, India has moved on and the once ubiquitous Bajaj scooter is now nearly extinct.

2012 Vespa LX125 Automatic Scooter

Harking back to current times, we have talk of a brand new lifestyle scooter, the Vespa LX125. Piaggio India is betting on the premise that India is now ready for an all new segment of commuting, one that will blend retro cool with modern chic. Hence, you have a scooter like the Vespa LX125, which will be priced higher than the other offerings in town, and one which will also arrive with a high level of fit and finish. With that, the Vespa LX125, Piaggio hopes will elevate the whole scooting experience to an all new level, into a lifestyle choice.

But a lifestyle brand also comes with trappings like plenty of accessories that’ll make you cool even a few miles away from your steed. Fret not, the Vespa LX125 will come with a range of lifestyle accessories like coffee mugs, key chains and so on, in keeping with the image of the brand. Piaggio did display a bunch of stuff at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo and the accessory range is expected to go on sale along with the Vespa LX125, which will be launched sometime at the end of March or April 2012. thank god vespa are making the PX again as this is terrible, they have made a retro scooter like an early fora bossa which is the best looking scooter ever made which i hope they actually produce,id buy one of the retro scoots NOT this heap of junk ..iam biased as im a lambretta rider and think all vespa scooters are for girls except malossi ktted P200E’s of course!! this new vespa ius plastic has no gears and will have an engine that is exciting as jelly and custard..so most vespa owners will like this new scooter then LOL . .plastic crappy junk, buy a lambretta tune it and have fun, dont buy something your mam would ride
