First on ICB: Aamir Khan starrer Talaash teases the 2013 Mahindra Panthero 110(Stallio) commuter motorcycle

Back in 2010, the Mahindra Stallio 110 commuter motorcycle was launched by Mahindra Two Wheelers, soon after it bought out Kinetic Engineering’s two wheeler business. The launch saw Bollywood actor Aamir Khan unveiling the motorcycle, which enjoyed just a few months in the market before being pulled off by Mahindra to fix gearbox gremlins. Early 2013 is when Mahindra will relaunch the Stallio in the Indian commuter motorcycle market and this time around, Mahindra has also renamed the motorcycle. The Stallio will be called the Panthero 110. Meanwhile, our roving eye in the sky, EarthFusion managed to spot an interesting detail in the soon-to-be-released Aamir Khan starrer Talaash. Hit the jump to watch for yourself.

As is evident from the Youtube video, the Panther 110 makes an appearance in the song Jee Le Zaraa, in what seems to be a canny product placement in the movie. Product placement in movies is big business these days and in that light, the Panthero 110 finding its way into Talaash isn’t something out of the blue. Why, the recent Shahrukh Khan starrer, Jab Tak Hain Jaan, saw the Royal Enfield Thunderbird being a major part of the props in the movie with the motorcycle even being the centerpiece of the movie’s turning points. Coming back to the Panthero 110, the motorcycle will be powered by a 110 cc four stroke engine that puts out 7.3 Bhp of peak power and 8 Nm of peak torque.

This engine is mated to a four speed manual gearbox and we’re hoping that Mahindra Two Wheelers have managed to iron out the issues that the Stallio’s gearbox came with. Apart from the new name and associated badging, the Panthero isn’t expected to bring in radical new features. The Panthero 110 will be Mahindra Two Wheeler’s only motorcycle in the Indian commuter segment. The motorcycle will take on the likes of the Honda Dream Yuga, the Hero MotoCorp Passion XPro and the TVS Star City. This motorcycle is expected to be priced in the INR 40,000 to 45,000 price range. Expect an early 2013 launch for the Mahindra Panthero 110.
